What the Payroll Manager does  

Under minimal supervision, performs payroll and accounting duties for the assigned region(s) accurately and effectively. Requires independent judgement and understanding of corporate policies. Can perform both routine and complex tasks accurately and efficiently.

What you will do 

  • Maintains payroll information by directing the collection, calculation, and entering of data in accordance with regional payroll schedules. 
  • Updates payroll records by reviewing and approving changes (e.g., exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job titles, and department/ division transfers). 
  • Balances the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies. 
  • Utilizes company’s accounting system to process payroll transactions. 
  • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of costs and variances; assists with additional audits and reporting as needed. 
  • Pays employees by directing the production and issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts. 
  • Determines payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of taxes.  
  • Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests. 
  • Maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures. 

What you will bring to the role 

  • Strong people management skills 
  • Ability to maintain data in a timely and efficient manner. 
  • Reporting skills 
  • Detailed understanding of compensation and wage structure, benefits administration, worker compensation and employment law for assigned region. 
  • Ability to interact effectively with superiors, peers, other employees, and service providers. 
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently, and accurately with minimal supervision. 

Your experience 

  • University degree preferred and 5+ years of related experience. 
  • Excel experience is essential. 
  • APA Certified Payroll Professional preferred.
