What the Associate Director, Business Development does at Worldwide

The Associate Director Business Development represents and promotes Worldwide Clinical Trials in a predetermined geographical territory and/or to a select group of key accounts with the primary objective of establishing long term, mutually beneficial business relationships and partnerships. Directly responsible for identifying new contact leads for potential services.

What you will do

  • Achieve individual revenue and sales objectives through proactive communication and sales the Worldwide Clinical Trials late phase services to assigned clients.
  • Identify new contact leads for potential Phase II-IV business.
  • Develop and implement individual, territory and key account strategies that are specifically geared to the growth and retention of the client base.
  • Responsible for aiding the development of project proposals including but not limited to communicating with clients, internal Project Directors and Project Managers and providing text and supporting study budget reviews.
  • Provide continuous general intelligence on all key competitors, their services, acquisitions, and pricing.

  • Ability to work independently and under pressure without supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills with a high degree of professionalism
  • Good organizational skills: ability to prioritize, delegate, and evaluate work.
  • Strong, and effective presentation skills; ability to convincingly present features and benefits of service to clients
  • Strong interpersonal skills creating and maintaining a positive dialogue with both clients and colleagues.
  • Excellent negotiating skills

Your experience

  • Fluent German or French language
  • BA/BS in business or life sciences
  • MS or MBA preferred.
  • Proven CRO sales experience
  • Related experience in a CRO, pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment.
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a BD in a CRO environment, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • A demonstrable track record in exceeding sales targets
