Position Title: Director, Business Partner

External Description:

SUMMARY:        Develops policy and directs and coordinates Human Resources activities, including staffing, compensation, employee relations, benefits, training, and employee services by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tasks may include but are not limited to:

  • Analyzes wage and salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation plan
  • Writes directives advising department supervisors of company policy regarding equal employment opportunities, compensation, and employee benefits
  • Consults legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with federal and state law
  • Develops and maintains a human resources system that meets top management information needs
  • Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization
  • Studies legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends
  • Writes and delivers presentations to corporate officers or government officials regarding human resources policies and practices
  • Recruiting and interviewing of all prospective employees
  • Directs and supervises the WCT Childcare Development staff
  • Coordination of all special events, such as seminars and social events

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
 

  • Familiarity with the operations of all corporate divisions, policies, goals and objectives acquired after three months of on-the-job exposure to WCT operations
  • Knowledge with current office technology; normally acquired through formal education or one year of applicable experience
  • Ability to interact with superiors, peers and others effectively and to communicate ideas clearly
  • Ability to write concise, understandable operating instructions and policy statements to keep employees informed of the current policies and procedures
  • Ability to research vendors and service providers and make decisions in line with company goals and policies
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines on special projects
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills and ability to set priorities

 
 
REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Human Resources or related field
  • 8-10 years of progressive Human Resources experience required preferably in a Generalist role
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Strong decision making, problem solving, and judgment skills
  • Ability to remain objective in dealing with all levels of employees and managers
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills including the ability to lead group presentations and training sessions.
  • Advanced excel skill required

 
Promotion to the next level is not automatic based on years of experience. Personnel are evaluated on proven competency, level of responsibility, and ability to work independently.
