What a Clinical Trial Liaison does at Worldwide

The Clinical Trial Liaison will be focused on establishing and maintaining strong relationships with assigned clinical investigators and site staff.  The main purpose will be to provide support and have clinically sound discussions with investigators regarding enrolment of patients into assigned trials.  The Clinical Trial Liaison will also serve as an alternative contact point for escalations. 

 RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Tasks may include but are not limited to: 

  • Establish and maintain relationships with sites and their staff. 
  • Conduct targeted conversations with the investigators and site staff regarding patient recruitment and retention. 
  • Have clinical discussions with investigators regarding impact to patient recruitment. 
  • Monitor site performance and take appropriate action to maintain timelines. 
  • Support project teams regarding site performance issues. Work closely with internal study teams and sites to foresee and proactively manage study site problems/issues as they occur. Initiate, recommend and communicate corrective actions as needed.  
  • Share information with Worldwide teams regarding the competencies of investigators and site staff. 
  • Conduct frequent calls and live visits with sites. 

 
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  

  • Excellent networking skills to represent Worldwide with key local stakeholders. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - able to interact with all levels of internal and external management. 
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing and problem-solving skills. 
  • Self-motivated with proactive issue monitoring and management including risk assessment and contingency planning. 
  • Possess a combination of critical thinking and operational expertise and efficiency. 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills (both in English and local language). 

 

REQUIREMENTS: 
   

  • At least 8 years’ experience in clinical research in Pharma, Biotech or CRO 
  • 10+ years’ experience in the therapeutic area/indication assigned  
  • Demonstrated experience of working directly with clinical sites and investigators
  • Demonstrated customer service and relationship building skills with clinical sites (on site and remote)
  • Minimum Bachelors degree, preferred Masters’, Doctorate, or MD in related field 
  • Clinical site management experience, with a strong background in operational aspects of clinical research and clinical development outsourcing.
