What you will do

The Clinical Laboratory Assistant is responsible for receiving, processing, and accessioning of biological samples for further laboratory analysis.

• Receives shipments from outside sources and unpack specimens according to standard procedure
• Generates requisitions and barcode labels from LIS (laboratory information system).
• Accurately and efficiently enters patient demographics into a computer system (laboratory information system).
• Prepares specimens for laboratory analysis by organizing, labeling, and storing specimens appropriately.
• Recognizes equipment malfunctions and/or technical problems and takes appropriate steps to resolve.
• Centrifuges samples, as needed.

• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Ability and willingness to adapt to change

Your background

• High school or equivalent. Two or more years of recent clinical laboratory experience.
• Preferred: Specimen Processor Certification
