SUMMARY:  This is an Associate Director position responsible for leading activities to develop, improve and implement Worldwide GxP Training at Worldwide and administration of the Worldwide Learning Center learning management system.  This includes collaborating with key stakeholders and functional and operation leaders to create, update, and implement GxP training curriculum and assignments for Worldwide employees working in GxP. This position will also provide strategic leadership in the planning, developing, and implementing training initiatives (e.g., professional learning & development, GxP, learning systems). The incumbent also leads or participates in Training Governance meetings and supports the development and maintenance of metrics related to training compliance.

                            
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tasks may include but are not limited to:
 

  • Provide strong leadership skills to guide, mentor and develop a multi-cultural global team that supports the Worldwide Learning Center and GxP Training Department.
  • Identify opportunities for development in direct reports and activity work to develop skill sets.
  • Identify resource needs for training team and develop plans to fill needs (e.g. hiring, resources, technology)
  • Provide leadership and/or support of the Quality Management System and Training Governance by leading or participating in the Training governance meeting and support Key Quality Indicators for appropriate Governance oversight.
  • Work collaboratively with Worldwide leaders to identify opportunities for continuous improvements and develop and implement creative solutions to address training challenges and opportunities.
  • Provide expert consultancy and leadership to support complex enterprise-wide training deployments
  • Develop standards, processes, procedures, guidelines, and quality checks to ensure Worldwide GxP Training meets regulatory requirements and quality standards.
  • Liaise with and develop professional relationships across Worldwide departments that encourage compliance and engagement with the Worldwide Learning Center (WLC) learning management system.
  • Identify and manage WLC technology issues with Worldwide IT department and the software vendor to resolve issues.
  • Identify and report potential compliance risks, working collaboratively to develop solutions.
  • Develop and report formal Worldwide metrics to the business, developing analytics and reporting functionality available in Worldwide and continually evaluate to ensure analytics meet business needs.
  • Manage preparation for audits and inspection, including resource scheduling and coordination with Quality Assurance Audit team.
  • Provide support and information for RFIs regarding training model and WLC.
  • Manage required configuration changes to support user group and content expansion including validation activities.
  • Supports large scale and complex process initiatives in collaboration with process owner, management, and key stakeholders across business, operations, and technology areas to positively impact business function.
  • Collaborates with process owner, functional and operational management in the development of GxP training, general role-associated training, and audit corrective actions.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree preferred  
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent, preferably in a Technology, Communication, Psychology, Science or Business Management discipline
  • Must have at least 8-10 years of experience in Learning Development and/or Training Management or similar
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience working in a Pharmaceutical/Biotech/R&D environment or strongly regulated industry
  • Experience with training and curriculum management
  • Must have led business process design or improvement projects and teams
  • Extensive experience with and Learning Management Systems administration, preferably Cornerstone or SABA LMS
  • Experience supporting inspection readiness activities
  • Understanding and experience working within a global regulatory environment
  • Excellent written and verbal skills including facilitation and presentations
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Word, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Adobe.
