Position Title: Senior Director, Evidence Project Management

External Description:

SUMMARY: The Senior Director, Evidence Project Management provides functional leadership to Evidence’s Project Management Team, implements strategies and initiatives in support of operational excellence, provides direction and executive oversight on Evidence projects, and contributes to efforts for growth of the business.  
 

  • Drives the development and refinement of Evidence Project Management team's business objectives and processes to deliver projects within budget, time, and quality requirements
  • Serves as Line Manager to Evidence Project Management staff; may include Director(s), Associate Director(s), Senior Project Manager(s), and/or Project Manager(s); prepares and conducts performance appraisals and salary reviews; applies company policies
  • Provides support, training, and mentoring to Evidence Project Management staff, ensuring a robust infrastructure; develops opportunities for growth within the department
  • Leads and contributes to numerous initiatives to create, maintain, and enhance processes, resources, tools, and technologies
  • Establishes and maintains excellent relationships with sponsors: provides guidance on strategic objectives, leverages relationships in support of new business, addresses issues related to client satisfaction, and serves as a point of escalation
  • Provides direction and executive oversight on Evidence projects, working effectively with sponsors, Project Managers, and those providing Senior Oversight
  • Contributes to business development efforts, supporting proposal/budget development and proactively identifying opportunities

 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tasks may include but are not limited to:

  • Utilize Sciforma and other tools to effectively assign resources to manage Evidence’s new and ongoing portfolio of studies, forecast study needs, and determine approaches to effectively utilize and leverage Evidence Project Management staff
  • Leverage financial acumen to support the development and ongoing review of Evidence Budget Tool; assist in the creation of budgets and provide financial-related support, as needed
  • Ensure approaches to Evidence Project Management activities remain current and aligned with applicable industry standards; share best practices and Worldwide updates with team
  • Track and review current assignments for Evidence Project Management team; as necessary, modify workloads to ensure Evidence Project Managers are appropriately resourced
  • Communicate regularly with Evidence Project Managers, providing guidance and support and ensuring an appropriate level of project oversight is being provided
  • Conduct monthly project review meetings with Evidence Project Managers to discuss and assess project status, resources, risks, financial health, sponsor satisfaction, and study timeline
  • Develop Evidence Project Management training plans for existing and new staff
  • Ensure newly hired Evidence Project Managers are issued appropriate equipment and are onboarded in a timely and efficient manner
  • Institute Evidence Project Management performance action plans, when necessary
  • Act as intermediary for Evidence Project Managers with sponsors, administrative and technical support, as necessary
  • Interface with Worldwide’s Project Management leadership team and Project Managers to gain insights into resources, systems, and training; as appropriate, implement and leverage these approaches and systems within Evidence to enhance Project Management offerings
  • Serve as a senior team member responsible for escalations; provide support and direction to Project Managers and those providing Senior Oversight; assist in the development of contingency plans
  • Provide proactive risk management planning with project teams as related to Evidence Project Management resourcing needs/issues

  • Able to review, assimilate, and summarize complex medical information
  • Technologically proficient (Word, Excel and Outlook); able to use standard office equipment, software, and other business applications
  • Able to utilize internal tools (Sciforma, PPR, etc.) to monitor project scope and performance; maintain dialogue with Evidence Leadership Team and internal team(s), as appropriate
  • Cross-cultural awareness and ability to adapt appropriately

 
REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum four-year college curriculum with a major concentration in biological, physical, health, pharmacy and a minimum of twelve (12) years in clinical research working in the CRO or Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry and management experience
  • Skill sets and proven performance equivalent to above
  • Experience directing teams and/or managing late phase, post approval, observational research studies, and/or other complex clinical studies
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Available for domestic and international travel, including overnight stays (valid current passport)
