Position Title: Vice President, Real-World Evidence

External Description:

SUMMARY:        The Vice President, Real-World Evidence (VPRWE) is responsible for the overall commercial and strategic direction of the Worldwide Real-World Evidence business.  This is a leadership role and an “active” build role.  It requires someone who has proven experience in building successful businesses and/or franchises. VPRWE is responsible for formulating the strategic business plan for RWE. 


Tasks may include but are not limited to:

  • Define the global target/customer market, global marketing strategy, third party vendor partnerships, and building out Worldwide’s internal infrastructure to scale the business
  • Develop a successful, sustainable, Worldwide Real World Evidence business
  • Develop business plan in conjunction with Worldwide counterparts
  • Develop experience/indication focus with therapeutic and medical leads
  • Develop sales strategy to penetrate the RWE market
  • Develop model for future sales teams to expand and implement globally
  • Collaborate with Worldwide Global Sales Managers to formulate sales strategy in accordance with the business plan
  • In cooperation with business and senior management, responsible for the strategy and acquisition of new business
  • Communicate sponsor needs with the RWE team to ensure consistency in operational and financial delivery within the therapeutic area
  • Develop and implement revised, clear and concise roles and responsibilities within Project Teams and Functions
  • Chair and conduct the Monthly Portfolio Review meeting, focusing on measuring, and improving all Project Delivery for RWE / Observational Research projects within the Worldwide Evidence business unit
  • Work with teams to identify and effectively communicate key business, therapeutic, clinical and operational “insights” that engage, inform and excite our teams and our sponsors.
  • Along with the operational team, oversee the development, implementation and adherence to project plans and performance indicators
  • Review and approve strategy, content and costing of new business proposals
  • Develop and maintain connections and good working relationships with sponsors
  • Provide the commercial and strategic leadership to bid defense meetings and attend bid presentations where appropriate
  • Facilitate the resolution of any issues arising from the sponsor relationship

  • Experienced in the implementation and consistent execution of new and/or existing processes



  • University/college degree (life science preferred) or certification in a related allied health profession from an appropriately accredited institution (e.g., nursing certification, medical or laboratory or laboratory technology) or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the individual with the required knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Fifteen (15) years of experience in Bioanalytical Laboratory, Central Laboratory, Phase I, IIB Clinical Research,   RWE or CRO industries and at least ten (10) years
  • 10 years of management experience, including line management of staff in a global environment
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire effective teamwork and motivate personnel within a matrix system
  • Experience in managing global development programs
  • Proven ability to negotiate with clients in a professional manner
  • Available for domestic and international travel, including overnight stays
  • Valid passport
  • Fluent in local office language and in English, both written and verbal
  • Broad knowledge of drug development and commercialization processes and client needs
