Privacy Notice
Worldwide is committed to protecting the transparency and security of your personal data. As such, this privacy notice describes how Worldwide collects, processes, uses and stores (“processes”) job applicant personal data in relation to potential employment opportunities.
Data protection principles:
Worldwide complies with data protection laws. This means that the personal information Worldwide holds about you is:
- used lawfully, fairly and in a transparent way;
- collected only for valid purposes that Worldwide has clearly explained to you and not used in any way that is incompatible with those purposes;
- relevant to the purposes Worldwide has told you about and limited only to those purposes;
- accurate and kept up to date;
- kept only as long as necessary for the purposes Worldwide has told you about; and
- kept securely.
What personal data is collected?
In connection with your application for employment, Worldwide may process the following categories of your personal data:
- name and contact details, including address, email address and phone number (and carrier where text messaging communication enabled);
- username and password for online account;
- professional details, including CV, past work experience, compensation history, skills, abilities and evaluations relevant to the position you are seeking;
- social media profiles; and/or
- right to work, work visas and employment authorizations.
Worldwide may also process the following categories of sensitive information:
- reports of individual background checks where permitted by applicable law and subject to your explicit consent;
- government issued and other identification documents and numbers (e.g. passport, driver’s license, insurance);
- financial information (e.g. bank account details); and/or
- data revealing race, ethnicity, health information and trade union membership.
How is your personal data collected?
Worldwide collects personal information about job applicants through the application and recruitment process, either directly from candidates or sometimes from an employment or recruitment agency or third-party referrals. Personal data may be collected directly from job applicants via email, phone or text messaging (where enabled by the job applicant). Worldwide may sometimes collect additional information from third parties where you have provided your consent, including former employers, credit reference agencies or other background check agencies.
What is your personal data used for?
Worldwide will process your personal data for its legitimate interests consistent with applicable law, for the following purposes:
- evaluation of qualifications for an employment position and consideration for future employment opportunities;
- personnel recruitment;
- employment onboarding, including payroll and benefit enrollment;
- internal administrative purposes; and/or
- compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.
To whom could the personal data be disclosed?
In connection with the above purposes, Worldwide may disclose your personal data to the following categories of recipients:
- service providers who process the personal data on behalf of Worldwide, including hosting databases, data processing services, professional advisors, recruitment and employment agencies, credit and background agencies;
- Worldwide affiliates; and/or
- competent authorities or other government agencies.
Worldwide or its affiliated companies have agreements in place with service providers who may have access to the personal data as described above, under which they are bound to keep the information confidential and not to use it for any other reason other than for the purposes described in this notice. Worldwide’s professional advisors are bound by obligations of professional secrecy.
For European Economic Area (“EEA”) and Swiss Citizens: In connection with any of the above purposes, the personal data may be transmitted to countries outside the EEA which are not regarded as providing an adequate level of protection for personal data, such as the United States. For such transfers, Worldwide has executed EU Standard Contractual Clauses to provide appropriate safeguards. Personal Data Retention:
We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for. To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.
Data Security:
Worldwide has put measures in place to protect the security of your information in accordance with company information security policies and procedures.
Worldwide has put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorized way, altered or disclosed. Worldwide has put in place procedures to deal with data security breaches and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.
What are the rights to personal data?
Under certain laws in certain countries where we operate, individuals are entitled to access personal data and have personal data corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete. Individuals may also have the right to have personal data deleted or to restrict or object to the processing of personal data where certain conditions are met under applicable law. If you are an EEA or Swiss citizen, you also are entitled to lodge a complaint with your local Member State supervisory authority.
